Frequently asked questions

How much does Threadfall cost?

Players are always free. Game Master plans are $10/mo (Hobby), $25/mo (Standard), $40/mo (Master), and $60/mo (Pro). Every plan starts with two free sessions and no card.

Do my players have to pay?

No. Players are free on every plan: they join the campaign, read recaps, post during live play, and browse the codex. Only the GM subscribes, and only the GM uses the AI authoring tools.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: two full sessions, no credit card, and no time limit. You see your real campaign come alive, not a demo.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Any time, and you keep your data either way: a campaign you downgrade or cancel stays readable and editable. Annual plans run about two months cheaper than paying monthly.

What is the difference between the tiers?

Every paid plan includes the full core: live recording, recaps and chronicles, the living codex, party assessment, bardic chat, quote cards, and Discord. Tiers differ on how many active campaigns and recorded sessions a month you get. Standard and up add the Prep Suite — Loose Threads, Weave Fates, and Foreshadow. Master and Pro add Anthologies for cross-campaign continuity and unlimited campaigns.

What happens to campaigns I’ve finished?

Completed campaigns are stored free and never count toward your active limit — you keep everything you’ve built, and you can bring any campaign back to active whenever you want, with no waiting. The limit only counts campaigns that are actively generating new sessions and recaps.

Does it work with Discord?

Yes, on every plan including free: publish recaps, reveal entities, get 24-hour session reminders — and now record the session itself (beta): the bot joins your voice channel and identifies every speaker by their Discord account, no per-session speaker labeling.
