Seven tools for a Daggerheart campaign, with what each costs and what its own site says it does. Some help while you play: Foundry, Heartforge and Minva run the fight, and Demiplane holds the rules and the sheets. Others keep the record afterward: Archivist, Session Keeper and Threadfall.
Demiplane's Daggerheart Nexus holds the game's source material: domain and subclass cards, ancestry and community cards, and a character builder. GMs get adversary sheets and environment tools, which were in beta when Demiplane announced them, and character sheets pull into Roll20. Building a character is free, and the subscription costs under $5 a month. The Nexus pages we read list no session recording or recaps. Source: demiplane.com and demiplane.com.
The Foundry system adds character sheets with level-up tracking, a spotlight encounter mode, Duality Rolls, damage and effect automation, Beastform, and Narrative and Encounter countdowns that you move by hand or let automation move. It supports homebrew domains and domain cards. Its page lists no price and no session recording. Source: foundryvtt.com.
Heartforge is an iPhone and iPad app for GMs and players. GMs build adventures, track Hit Points, Stress and Fear in encounters, and search a compendium that covers SRD 2.0. Players get character sheets, a guided level-up, companions and beastforms, and everything works offline. It is free to download, and a monthly or yearly subscription unlocks the full app. The listing does not mention recording. Source: the App Store listing.
Minva runs free browser tools built from the SRD: a character creator, a loot generator, an encounter builder with 264 adversaries, and a Fear tracker with the twelve-Fear pool and countdowns. No account is needed. It also sells a Notion campaign template. No recording or recap is listed. Source: minva.netlify.app.
Archivist turns Discord voice, uploaded audio, play-by-post and pasted notes into session recaps, a timeline, a quest log and a compendium of characters and places. For an in-person game you record the session on a phone or microphone and upload it. You can ask it questions about your campaign, and it works with Foundry VTT and Obsidian. Its pages say it keeps no audio and does not train on your data. They describe it for tabletop games in general and do not mention Daggerheart. Plans cost $10, $20, $35 and $60 a month for 4, 10, 20 and 40 sessions, with a 30-day free trial and no free tier. Source: myarchivist.ai/pricing.
Session Keeper records on iOS, Android and the web, takes uploaded audio, and joins a Discord voice channel on the Hero plan and above. It writes session summaries, keeps a campaign wiki and offers a chat assistant. Its pages describe it as built for D&D and working with other games, and do not mention Daggerheart. Plans cost $3.99, $9.99, $24.99 and $39.99 a month, with no free tier listed. Source: sessionkeeper.ai/pricing.
Threadfall records your session, in person or on Discord, and writes the chapter plus a codex of the people, places and factions you met. On a Daggerheart campaign the Live screen shows your Fear pool as twelve pips you tap, countdowns as a die you turn, and each character's Evasion, damage thresholds, Hit Points and Stress. A countdown you mark hidden stays off the players' screens until you reveal it.

It has all 189 Core Set domain cards, so it can tell you what the party's loadouts cover and what they miss. Behind the Screen, which players never see, lists every character's damage thresholds and the Stress each has left before going Vulnerable. Characters come in from a public Demiplane share link or a photo of the sheet.

Audio is transcribed live and never stored, and it is never used to train AI; what is kept is the text transcript. Players join with a free account. You can track everything by hand for free and pay only for the AI write-ups, which start at $10 a month, and the free tier includes two trial sessions with full recaps and no credit card. Threadfall has no dice, tokens or battle maps, it holds no card text, and it never moves your Fear or a countdown from the recording: you tap them. More at Threadfall for Daggerheart.
The last two columns are the two things we checked each tool's own pages for. Does it cover Daggerheart's own mechanics: Fear, countdowns, domain cards or an equivalent? Does it record a session and write the chapter and codex from it? A recorder that doesn't know about Fear leaves you to track it, and a Fear tracker with no recording leaves you to write the recap. "Not listed" means the tool's own pages do not mention it.

On these pages, Threadfall is the only one of the seven that lists both.
It depends what you want from it. Foundry VTT runs the fight, and its Daggerheart system adds sheets, countdowns and automation. Demiplane has the source material and character sheets. Archivist, Session Keeper and Threadfall keep the record between sessions. You can use one of each.
Archivist and Session Keeper record and recap, and neither names Fear, countdowns or domain cards. Heartforge, Minva and the Foundry system track Daggerheart's mechanics, and none of them lists session recording. Threadfall lists both.
No. Dice, tokens and battle maps belong to your virtual tabletop or your table. Threadfall keeps the chapters, the codex, your Fear and countdowns, and the party's loadouts. It never moves your Fear or a countdown from the recording; you tap them.
Yes. Minva's tools run in a browser with no account. Building a character on Demiplane's Nexus is free. Heartforge is free to download. On Threadfall, you can track everything by hand for free and pay only for the AI write-ups, and every player is free.
Yes. Threadfall reads a public Demiplane share link, so a character built on Nexus comes straight in. Foundry or another virtual tabletop can run the fight while Threadfall keeps the record.
