Dungeon Crawler Carl Compatible
Threadfall listens while you play, keeps your crawlers one glance away, and turns the night into a written chapter and a codex your players can read back.
It runs beside you while you play. It hears the session, at the table or in a Discord voice channel, keeps your crawlers and your world one glance away, and when the night ends it gives you back a written chapter and a codex of everyone the table has met. You run the game. Threadfall keeps the record.
Choose it when you make the campaign and the game follows you. Your crawlers get a sheet of their own instead of a D&D one, the transcriber is given the game’s words, recaps are written in the game’s terms, and the Live screen shows each crawler’s Health Bar and mana.
Use Import a sheet. Upload a photo or a scan of the crawler sheet, or the game’s fillable PDF, and Threadfall reads it. Or type the crawler in by hand.
A review screen, always. Threadfall shows what it read, you fix anything it got wrong, and nothing saves until you confirm. It reads the printed play numbers: name, race, class, level, floor, stats, Health Bar, mana, Damage Resistance, Evade, attacks, skills, inventory and abilities. Whatever it cannot read is left blank for you to fill in. A pet or mount on the sheet can become a Companion with a Health Bar of its own, and the review step asks first. D&D Beyond, Roll20 and Foundry imports are not offered for this game, on purpose.
The Health Bar is ten boxes, like the paper sheet. Tap to mark damage. Mana is a current and a maximum. Both sit on the Live screen, on the Party page and in the Codex, and what you tap stays where you left it between sessions.
No. You tap them, or the crawler’s player does. Threadfall never moves them from the recording, because what a roll meant and what it cost is yours to rule. Nothing changes at your table unless you change it.
The sheet carries what a table plays with: numbers, abilities and gear. Backstory, patrons and secrets are not read into it. They live in the Codex, where the GM’s usual controls apply: an Unrevealed entry stays with the GM until they reveal it, and a Private box is shared with one player and the GM only. A player can tap their own crawler’s Health Bar and mana, and the GM can tap any.
On a Dungeon Crawler Carl Compatible campaign the Atlas becomes the Dungeon Map, and it carries a Time to Level Collapse clock for the floor you are on. The GM moves it as time passes and the whole table sees it. Descending starts the next floor’s clock. Nothing moves it automatically.
The GM can award several in a session, and players can suggest one from the chapter recap. Each suggestion goes to the GM to approve and is tagged with who sent it.
It does not show the floor on the Live screen, play a loot-box reveal, or warn you which crawler is closest to the edge. It does not track a monster’s or boss’s health, initiative, rounds or how long an effect lasts: those live inside a fight and are gone when it ends, and Threadfall holds what carries over between sessions. It does not roll dice.
No, and deliberately. Dice, tokens and the fight itself are your table’s job. Threadfall holds the part that otherwise goes missing, which is the campaign.
Choose Dungeon Crawler Carl when you make the campaign. Then just run your next session. Create a free account; the free tier includes two trial sessions with full AI recaps and needs no credit card.
